Black Is Beautiful

While venturing out earlier today in the middle on old Macau, China I came across this little cinema with their featured showcase “Black Is Beautiful”. This showcase is highlighting popular but impactful movies starring and directed by black people from the 1970s-present day.
Movies: Do The Right Thing, Blackkklansman, Losing Ground, If Beale Street Could Talk, Killer of Sheep, Daughters of the Dust, Fruitvale Station, An Oversimplification of Her Beauty, Chameleon Street and Sorry to Bother You.
This made my day. Since being here I’ve been getting awkward stares from locals that probably never encountered a black person in person before wanting to touch my hair or think I just got off the plane from Africa. Knowing there is a group of people here trying to get our beautiful message across.

My Hong Kong Vlog is HERE!!!

Hey Aspirers! (I hope you like that)

It’s finally HERE! My first vlog!!!! Ahhh I took so long to work out the kinks but I did it. Excuse some of the technical errors. I’m using my Iphone since my regular camera’s quality isn’t the best. Well I hope you enjoy. I enjoyed myself in Hong Kong and if you haven’t read my recap on Hong Kong you should check it out here. I’ve added some fun facts on some of the places I’ve visited.

Talk to you all soon!

Sincerely, Courtney Renee
