Christmas Eve or Christmas Day

When I was younger the tradition was each of us can open one gift at midnight and wait until we woke up to open the rest. Now we open all our presents on Christmas Eve.

Leave a comment below of when you open your gifts.

Christmas Tree Lane

Hi Aspirers I wanted to share a few Christmas trees from my past Christmases.

In 2010 was the year my mom decided we weren’t going to have a real Christmas tree. She finally got what she wanted.

Also in 2010 my roommates and I decided to get ourselves a “little” tree. Wasn’t it cute!

In 2011 my organization Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship Inc. teamed up with Branches of Love. Each group decorated Christmas trees and each tree was given to families without a tree.

I hope you enjoyed my trip down Christmas Tree lane.

Sincerely, Courtney Renee

Christmas Tag Part 2

Hey Aspirers here is part two of the Christmas tag. If you haven’t read part one check out my last post here

1: What is your favorite Christmas song?

A: I don’t have one favorite but check out Holiday Jams post of a list of all my favorites. There are also videos!

2. What is one Christmas food I can’t live without?

A: This isn’t a dish only served at Christmas but I enjoy it because my family and I only make it home made two or three times a year. I would say macaroni and cheese.

3. Peppermint or gingerbread

A: Gingerbread duh!

4. Have you ever tried fruit cake?

A: Yup and I love it!

5. What is one thing you asked for this Christmas?

A: I’m not picky but I love any in the houndstooth pattern.

6. If I could be in any Christmas movie character, who would I be?

A. Scrooge and I’m not saying I’m a Scrooge but when I’m down and petty it would be nice to have a little reminder from the ghosts of what’s really important in life.

I hope you liked my Christmas tag and feel free to do this tag too!

Sincerely, Courtney Renee

Christmas Tag Part 1

Hey Aspirers!

I found this Christmas tag from Meg Taylor. I’ve never done a tag so I thought why not do one for 25 days of blogging!

1. What is your favorite Christmas tradition?

A: Open gifts on Christmas Eve

2. Where do you spend Christmas?

A: With my family

3. Do you decorate before or after Thanksgiving?

A: After sometimes the week before Christmas lol

4. Tinsel or garland?

A: Tinsel of course. It’s too much green if I used garland.

5. Who are you most excited to see this Christmas season?

A: It’s not who it’s what and it’s my bed lol

6. Do you own an ugly Christmas sweater?

A: I think my ugly sweaters are ugly but when I wear them people like them. I’ve never won an ugly sweater contest and I try so hard.

Keep a look out for part 2 tomorrow.

Sincerely, Courtney Renee

My Little Ornament

Hi Aspirers!

Unfortunately I was unable to find the original ornament with my name on it but a newer one will suffice to make my point. Growing up and decorating the Christmas tree my family would add these cute personalize ornaments. We didn’t hand make the ornaments but we wrote our names on them with a silver and gold marker. I was young and I didn’t have neat handwriting and I still don’t but I’ve progressed through the years. On my ornament I tried my best to write my name clearly. Recently I’ve been around more little kids and their parents talking about their first Christmas and I thought to myself when I have children I would want them to create something to show how far they’ve come. They won’t remember writing or creating the ornaments but it’s something for them to look back on and call it theirs.

When you were a child did you create ornaments or something similar for the Christmas tree? If there are any parents reading have you thought about doing that with your children. Leave a comment down below.
