2018 New Year, New Body

Hi Aspirers there is one thing I’m tired of and that is my weight. Guess what it’s time for a change! Yup I said it a change! When I was in college I lost about 40lbs but over time I’ve gain half of the weight back and I’m not loving it. I still fit in the same size because my weight gain was evently spread out. You know what it’s hard to lose it again. I would exercise and then stop for awhile, then start again and stop for awhile. It felt like a never ending cycle. Recently I figured out why, I was bored. I get bored so easily doing the same workouts. So I decided to create a random workout plan and hopefully it’ll challenge me to continue working out. I chose this workout method for it to be fun and random everyday that I worked out so I won’t get bored. Each time I pick a popsicle stick I won’t know the difficulty level until it’s picked. I’ll be pushing myself daily.

I’m sharing this with you all because I want you to hold me accountable and I would love for you to join in as well. Continue reading and find out my plan for a new body!!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Instructions:

1. Label all your ziplock bags. Label one bag REP or SETS, second bag EXERCISE, and the third bag TIME FRAME (how many seconds, minutes, or times). The markers I bought to write in the bag wasn’t working on the bags so I used paper and taped the labels on like so.

2. After you label your bags it’s time to label your popsicle sticks. For the REP or SETS popsicles I put 2, 3, 4, and 5 reps. You’ll know how many times you’ll have to repeat that one exercise.

3. For the EXERCISE sticks I put random exercises and something fun I decided to add (can you spot it lol). I’m planning on adding more don’t worry. Some of the other exercises that aren’t shown: knee crunches, planks, arm circles, flutter kicks, etc.

5. For the last bag TIME FRAME I wrote multiples of 5s and I wrote up to 50. The reason why I was specific on the time length because it’s based on how long you were planning to workout. Say if you chose to workout for an hour and you randomly selected sit-ups and 50. You then can decide if you want to do sit-ups for 50 seconds, 50 times, or 50 minutes of sit-ups. If you want a good variety of your workout doing the same thing might not be the best thing.

After you labeled your bags and your popsicle sticks it’s time to workout!

My plan is to workout 2-3 days a week for an hour. Once my strength builds up I want to add more difficult exercises so I can continue to progress. If you are trying this method you could create ziplock bags with warm up and cool down options. Make this method your own. I don’t have a personal trainer so I have to do something that’ll work.

Stay tune for updates on my progress and I’m planning on showing you a snippet of my workout. If you decide to do this method or something similar comment down below.

Sincerely, Courtney Renee

Have you been elfing lately?

”Tis the season for giving so how are you giving a helping hand? Here are a list of things you can do for others.

1. Volunteer at a local shelter

2. Have a mini toy drive with your friends and family and drop of the toys at shelters or hospitals.

3. Have a coat drive. Some of us grow out of our coats or want a new one and giving away a coat for the winter is a great gift.

4. Help out a fellow family member or coworker. A lot of us are so willing to give to the people in the streets and forget about the people we see everyday. Some of us are struggling to stay off the streets.

5. Have a food drive. Rent out a space and cook for the needy and then at the end send them off with another plate of food.

6. Bottle water drive. Water should be free but a lot of people charge. Give bookbags of water for people to drink and bathe.

7. DIY for the holidays. Decorating can be expensive especially when you don’t have decorations so why not have a DIY event to create ornaments and give away.

8. Host a family for the holiday

9. Have a glove, ear muffs, and sock drive. Something small like this will go a long way in the winter.

10. Pop up makeover shop. This is a huge event where lot of people have to be involved. Have a day where the homeless can pop in and clean themselves up.

Christmas Gift Ideas

Hi Aspirers!

Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Below I’ve listed some gift ideas for your last minute shopping needs.

  • Visa gift cards. Instead of trying to find that perfect gift, let them buy it themselves with your money.
  • Gas cards. One thing people don’t like paying for is gas. We all wish we can get up and go without stopping for gas.
  • Sephora makeup gift set. Sephora is a well known makeup store that create great makeup sets. Stop wondering if she has that color. Sephora made up a great set just for her.
  • Movies. You’re buying a gift for someone you know of course and getting them those movies they loved in theaters is a great idea.
  • Concert tickets. If their favorite band or group is coming to town, tickets to that show is the ultimate gift.
  • Vacation packages. A lot of people are skipping out on gift giving this year to save up for trips. Treating yourself on a vacation maybe something you need.
  • Jewelry
  • Undergarments such as bras, panties, tanks, under shirts, boxers, etc

In one of my previous posts I told you all what Christmas means to me and how it changed over the years and this post I’m sharing how I’ve seened Christmas evolve in the economy.

If we think back to our first memory of Christmas and how Christmas was explained us it might of been explained as a celebration of the birth of Jesus and remembering the importance of why God decided to bless Mary and Joseph with Jesus. Through the years of working through retail I’ve seen the true meaning of what Christmas should be about to an opportunity for making money. I remember seeing Christmas decorations in stores starting after Thanksgiving but now companies are advertising and selling Christmas products before Halloween! Turning Black Friday to purchase gifts early to Black week. Turning the holidays from spending time with your love ones to spending time at work. If we are so busy working and supposedly making money then why are we so many people scraping by? Companies are spending so much money competing with a holiday that was not meant for sell. People waited until December to start playing music and decorating their homes and it was fine then. Trading family time for work time is at an all time high especially in America. I just wish more companies took the time to see the importance of being with family and resting.

Do you feel like the true meaning of Christmas has turn from family time to money time? Leave a comment down below.

I’m thankful for my accomplishments I’ve made and for the ones that are coming my way. I am most thankful for you God for allowing me to be me.
