2018 New Year, New Body

Hi Aspirers there is one thing I’m tired of and that is my weight. Guess what it’s time for a change! Yup I said it a change! When I was in college I lost about 40lbs but over time I’ve gain half of the weight back and I’m not loving it. I still fit in the same size because my weight gain was evently spread out. You know what it’s hard to lose it again. I would exercise and then stop for awhile, then start again and stop for awhile. It felt like a never ending cycle. Recently I figured out why, I was bored. I get bored so easily doing the same workouts. So I decided to create a random workout plan and hopefully it’ll challenge me to continue working out. I chose this workout method for it to be fun and random everyday that I worked out so I won’t get bored. Each time I pick a popsicle stick I won’t know the difficulty level until it’s picked. I’ll be pushing myself daily.

I’m sharing this with you all because I want you to hold me accountable and I would love for you to join in as well. Continue reading and find out my plan for a new body!!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1. Label all your ziplock bags. Label one bag REP or SETS, second bag EXERCISE, and the third bag TIME FRAME (how many seconds, minutes, or times). The markers I bought to write in the bag wasn’t working on the bags so I used paper and taped the labels on like so.

2. After you label your bags it’s time to label your popsicle sticks. For the REP or SETS popsicles I put 2, 3, 4, and 5 reps. You’ll know how many times you’ll have to repeat that one exercise.

3. For the EXERCISE sticks I put random exercises and something fun I decided to add (can you spot it lol). I’m planning on adding more don’t worry. Some of the other exercises that aren’t shown: knee crunches, planks, arm circles, flutter kicks, etc.

5. For the last bag TIME FRAME I wrote multiples of 5s and I wrote up to 50. The reason why I was specific on the time length because it’s based on how long you were planning to workout. Say if you chose to workout for an hour and you randomly selected sit-ups and 50. You then can decide if you want to do sit-ups for 50 seconds, 50 times, or 50 minutes of sit-ups. If you want a good variety of your workout doing the same thing might not be the best thing.

After you labeled your bags and your popsicle sticks it’s time to workout!

My plan is to workout 2-3 days a week for an hour. Once my strength builds up I want to add more difficult exercises so I can continue to progress. If you are trying this method you could create ziplock bags with warm up and cool down options. Make this method your own. I don’t have a personal trainer so I have to do something that’ll work.

Stay tune for updates on my progress and I’m planning on showing you a snippet of my workout. If you decide to do this method or something similar comment down below.

Blazing It Up For Spring

Spring time is slowly approaching here in North Carolina. Where the weather is not too hot and not too cold but you’re having trouble figuring out what to wear. One thing we all should have in our wardrobe is a blazer. A blazer is a great way to dress an outfit up and tone an outfit down. It’s also a great layering piece just in case the weather drops a little bit at night. Guys don’t think blazers are only for women, you can rock a fly sports coat and go anywhere in style too.

Where to find blazers without breaking your pockets?

  • Thrift store
  • Forever 21 or H&M
  • Your parents closets
  • Department stores

All of my blazers except for one came from a thrift store. I paid only $4.99 for the pink blazer above. Of course I have more blazers than what’s in the picture above but I wanted to show you some examples on how you can turn an outfit into something else in a matter of seconds. First picture on the left I turn a casual romper into an evening outfit with your boo. The middle picture I turn a basic black tee and royal blue pants into a night out with the girls. For the last picture on the right under that blazer is a sexy backless dress but you wouldn’t know it unless I told you and I turn it into a dress you can wear to work. It’s even knee length approved.

Sometimes you don’t have to buy a whole outfit, all you need is great pieces to mix and match in your wardrobe. It’s much cheaper just to add a few pieces here and there verse two to three head to toe looks.

What’s In Your Closet

Okay let’s be honest a lot of us do it. Don’t even try to lie. We purchase something thinking we are going to wear it often. The next thing you know you wear it once and forget it’s in the back of your closet. You finally remember it when you’re trying to find something else. For me I hate throwing out clothes or shoes unless I know I can’t fit it. Especially if it’s too big. At the same time I don’t want to get rid of staple pieces that will continue to be in style such as blazers and tops.

What to do with all those clothes if you refuse to get rid of them. Hmmmmm…. Revamp your wardrobe! Think of new ways to wear your favorite pair of pants, that cool top, or pairing those shoes with something else. Think of what colors go well with each other. If you have a ton of summer dresses you can’t wear in the fall or winter because it’s either too short or to cold for it, pair it up with some cute tights and layer it with a cute blazer.

Guys are known for having less clothes than women so switching up what you wear with your favorite pair of jeans is a must. Currently I’m a Men’s Clothing Specialist at Saks. Yes I said it a Men’s Clothing Specialist. Women are great at styling men. Working there I’ve notice a lot of gentlemen stick to the same black or blue suit with a white button up shirt underneath. If you work five days a week to other people it will look like you’re wearing the same thing everyday. Something simple you can do is change up the color of your shirt and tie with your suits. A lot of guys that come into the store are very conservative and that’s their excuse on why their outfits are so plain. In a nice way I have to explain “you don’t have to look simple to keep your conservative style.”

Right now I’m in the process of moving and going through my closet. Like I said before I’m in the process for starting up a YouTube channel and I’m going to show you all some good examples on how to change up your wardrobe. Even if you have very few garments or have so many you can’t even count this video will be worth watching. I hope these tips will work out for you and keep a look out for the video that will go along with this topic.

Let’s Talk About Suits

Ladies and gentleman have you looked at someone in a suit and notice something was just off it? I’m going to tell why and help you fix that.

People are all different shapes and sizes and so are suits. When looking for that perfect suit and you are just having trouble deciding. You know your size but when you’re looking at the hanger or size of the jacket you’re getting confused.

As you can see from the pictures beside the size there is also the letters S, R, and L. S is for short, R is for regular, and L is for long. There is a great way to figure out which length is right for you.

Stand up straight and put your arms by your side as in the picture below.

Next cuff your hands. Your jacket should fall in the cuff of your hands.

Too short!

Too long!

Just right!

But what if you don’t know your suit size. Most suits comes with a 6 inch drop or up depending on how you are looking at it. What is a 6 inch drop or 6 inch up? If you wear a 30 pant size you are a 36 suit. If the drop is more than 6 inches somewhere on one of the suit’s tags it will have it written.

Now you know suits doesn’t come in one size fits all. Here’s the 411 on that tie you are choosing to wear with your outfit. Other than picking a tie to match your suit and accessories your tie shouldn’t be bigger or smaller than your lapel.

But first do you know what a lapel is?

This is the lapel.

This is too BIG!

THIS IS TOO small.

This is just right! Hitting the edges perfectly 🙂

Don’t stop reading now this last tip is VERY important. It’s the fit of the suit. Other than suits coming in short, regular, and long; it also comes in trim, slim, and classic fits. European suits is all the rave but if your perfect figure doesn’t fit that designer’s target market that suit isn’t for you.

Here are some examples:

– German designers target market is tall and slim like a soldier.
– Italian designers target market is average height, slim but in shape.
– American designer target market the casual fit for the average man.

If you have an idea about the designer you’ll know what suit works for you. If not that’s what Google is for lol.

I hope you enjoyed my tips. If you have any questions you are more than welcome to comment below. If it’s a question you don’t want anyone else to see click on my link ” Contact Information” at the top of the page in the menu bar.
